Happy HawleyDays!

We love sharing our favorite local businesses every holiday season, and although the HawleyDays are over, we wanted to continue to share our local businesses with you. Here are just a few of the great locally owned businesses…

Chocolaterie Stam
This Dutch chocolate business is based out of Des Moines (this is where the factories are that make the chocolate!). This family-owned franchise is led by Suzi and Chad Bonnett. They make the beverage and gelato in-house – it’s delicious!

Early Bird
Early Bird makes breakfast and brunch fun! This company first started in the Blackstone district of Omaha. They expanded to Shadow Lake Mall in Papillion this summer.

Copps Pizza
Kris, a Kansas City native, had originally worked in various pizza joints around the city until he decided to move to Omaha to pursue his dream of opening his own pizza company! Copps Pizza’s first location was in downtown Omaha, and they branched out to Papillion earlier this fall! He loves incorporating his love of KC BBQ into his pizzas (like the burnt ends pizza), and it makes for one tasty treat!  Copps Pizza loves the community and the support they’ve received!

Papio Pit BBQ
John, the owner of Papio Pitt BBQ, worked for years until he decided to pursue his love of BBQ and open Papio Pitt. The minute you enter, you are greeted with an enticing, smoky aroma that immediately makes your stomach rumble! John and his team pride themselves on serving the community and are so grateful for the support they’ve received this past year!

Canvas Salon and Day Spa
In need of a place to relax this holiday season? Look no further! Canvas’ soothing salt room is the best place to zen out and disconnect your mind from the stress the year brings. They are also a greencircle salon, which means they are eco/environmentally friendly. Erin, the owner, and her team recycle everything they can, like materials, hair dye, etc. and use cruelty free/organic products.

Santa’s Rock’n Lights
A holiday favorite! This drive-thru light show is almost a full mile of nearly 1,000 programmable elements and over 100,000 animated lights dancing to Christmas music. Located in the Werner Park parking lot, they have music playing on channel 88.7 to listen to while you drive!

The Beanery
As a “mom and pop” shop, owned by a family of five, they love to be involved in activities in schools, churches, and the city. They strive to make every visit personal and have another location in Gretna.

Ming’s Restaurant
Ming, the owner/founder of the restaurant, sadly passed away in June from COVID. His son. Ping, mentioned his father loving his restaurant and it’s employees like a family. Ping has taken over and strives to continue his father’s legacy of serving the Papillion community; he said, “By keeping Ming’s going strong, I keep a piece of my Dad alive.”

Dairy Queen
This location has been open since 1967. The owner, Mick inherited the business from his Dad. They are very family-oriented with a vast amount of family members work/have worked there. They are so incredibly humble and grateful for the support Papillion gives them year after year. To give back, they’re involved in numerous activities and organizations around the city; the family loves to support the community as much as they can, including school sports, Papillon Days, etc.

Top Golf
The premier entertainment and event venue in Omaha with fun point-scoring golf games for all skill levels, upscale bar food and drinks, music and more!

Door Dash
Delivery & takeout from the best local restaurants. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and more, delivered safely to your door.

Hy-vee
Shop for groceries, flowers, bakery and more.

Nebraska Crossing
Get access to offers and sales that aren’t available anywhere else, and effortlessly personalize your shopping experience.

Hawley Orthodontics
Give the gift of a great smile!

Wicked Caramel Apples
Ginger started Wicked Caramel Apples as a fun hobby, but it later blossomed into a booming business! Her apples are famous around Papillion and the surrounding community, and if you’ve ever gotten to try one, you know why! She creates some of the coolest flavors, such as Dr. Hawley’s personal favorites “Apple Crisp” and “Cheesecake,” both of which we included in our Hawley dental deliveries this year. Don’t get it twisted- Ginger is anything BUT wicked. Her apples are just “wicked good”.

We love our community and businesses like these are part of what makes Papillion such a special place. We hope you will consider supporting local small businesses this holiday season!
