As most of you know, our motto here at Hawley Orthodontics is: Smile. Be kind. Do good. One way we can all do that right now is by supporting local businesses that have been hard hit during the recent shutdown. Ordering takeout from local Papillion area restaurants is an excellent and super delicious way to help. Plus, it’s always nice to get a break from cooking. Of course, we can’t mention every single restaurant, so we’d encourage you to check-in with your favorites and place an order, but these are some great local takeout options for families:

La Mesa Mexican Restaurant doesn’t just have outstanding food, it’s also owned by one of our awesome patient families! We’ve ordered from this Papillion restaurant for the Hawley Orthodontics office on #TakeoutTuesday and our meal was fantastic. La Mesa offers both takeout and delivery. Try one of their family meal packs for takeout, which serves a minimum of four people. You can even add on a margarita kit to-go for the grown-ups.
Papio Pit BBQ – 1449 Papillion Dr, #103, Papillion, NE
Obviously, we have to include a barbecue joint if we’re talking about Papillion restaurants. This locally owned spot smokes all of their meat over applewood and it’s so good they’ve received the Sarpy County People’s Choice Award. You can get delivery through Doordash or Grubhub or place an order for takeout. You can order meals, choose items a la carte or purchase by the pound.
Wild Rice Sushi & Grill – 248 Olson Dr, #101, Papillion NE
Wild Rice Sushi serves up tasty sushi, as well as other Japanese dishes. Of course, staples like the spicy tuna roll and sweet potato roll are top-notch, they also have some fun combinations like the snow mountain roll and the summer fruit roll. They offer pick-up and delivery.
Ollie & Hobbes Craft Kitchen – 301 E. Gold Coast Rd, #101, Papillion, NE
Ollie & Hobbes is another of the excellent Papillion restaurants offering takeout and curbside pickup. You’ll find burgers, sandwiches, entrees, like grown-up mac and cheese, salads and appetizers. Key for parents, they also have a kids’ meal with kid-friendly favorites.
El Chicano Bistro – 120 Olson Dr, # 101, Papillion, NE
El Chicano offers a wide selection of Mexican street food. We actually celebrated Cinco de Mayo at our office with lunch for the team from El Chicano and it was delish. They have takeout and delivery and you can call or order online. Ordering ahead or have a large family? Try a fiesta pack, which is complete with perfect portions for your group size and includes a whole meal complete with assorted tacos, toppings and sides, as well as instructions for heating and serving, if necessary.
The Good Life Bar – 11336 S.96th St, Papillion, NE
The Good Life Bar has really, really good pub food, including wings, burgers and pizza but they elevate the classics and have new twists on old favorites like their prime melt sandwiches. It’s a staff lunch favorite for our team! The Good Life is offering curbside pickup for to-go orders.
SPIN! Pizza – 248 Olson Dr, Papillion, NE
SPIN! Pizza in Papillion has carryout, curbside pickup and delivery. We love their salads and pizza. It’s also the ideal place if you have dietary restrictions since they offer gluten-free and vegan options. Not sure what to get? Well, you can create your own pizza and have your perfect pie.
Ming’s Restaurant – 828 Tara Plz, Papillion, NE
This Papillion Chinese restaurant has really great food at excellent prices. Ming’s has been a staple in the area since 1989! Everything is fresh and made to order. They’re currently offering takeout. However, when picking up, keep in mind, they accept cash and personal checks only and no credit or debit cards.
El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant – 11910 Standing Stone Dr, #105, Gretna, NE
El Vallarta is one of our go-to Gretna restaurants. They offer fresh, authentic Mexican food with recipes from Vallarta, Mexico, hence the name. Call and place an order for takeout or take advantage of online ordering here.
We’ll Smoke U BBQ – 11773 S Hwy 6, Gretna, NE
What can we say, we have some great barbecue in the Omaha area. We’ll Smoke U BBQ is another place to get delicious barbecue and sides. They’re offering takeout and families will appreciate the to-go family pack, which features two pounds of meat, two pints of sides, eight buns and a pint of sauce.
Stella’s Hamburgers – 106 Gavin Rd S, Bellevue, NE
Stella’s is a family-owned Bellevue restaurant with award-winning burgers. Need we say more? They currently have a limited menu for takeout (don’t worry, all of the favorites are still there, ranging from juicy burgers to tasty veggie burgers and a kids’ menu to boot).
Quick Bites Soul Food – 105 W Mission Ave, Bellevue, NE
Quick Bites serves up soul food and delicious desserts in Bellevue. It’s the ultimate in comfort food. They offer takeout and delivery with the option for online ordering too. Try out the family meal deal or the chicken dinner deal!
Umami – 1504 Gavin Rd S, Bellevue
Umami has rave reviews for a reason; the Japanese restaurant in Bellevue may look unassuming but it’s absolutely delicious. That’s probably not a surprise given Chef Keen Zheng started his training at a Michelin-starred eatery and has trained under the country’s greatest sushi chefs. Order carryout or delivery. To feed a family, try a family-size sushi tray.
Onay Pinay Kitchen – 2221 Madison St, Bellevue, NE
Onay Pinay Kitchen serves up Hawaiian and Filipino food in Bellevue. This local favorite has been posting their menu on Facebook. You can then call to order for curbside pickup.
