Self-Ligating Braces
We use self-ligating braces at Hawley Orthodontics and you can choose between the ceramic or metal versions to suit your style. The brackets on these braces have a door that holds the lightweight memory wires in place. They don’t require ligatures (elastic or metal ties) and the wire actually moves on its own along with the teeth. They work more quickly than traditional braces and you’ll have fewer office visits. Metal Braces
With smaller, more streamlined brackets and high-tech wires, self-ligating metal braces, which are made from stainless steel, are a great choice for kids, teens and adults. Some patients prefer metal braces and while elastics aren’t necessary, a lot of people like to add them for a bit of color.
Ceramic Braces
Our clear self-ligating braces are made from a translucent ceramic material that blends right into the teeth so they’re a lot less noticeable than their metal counterparts. Their cosmetic appeal makes them popular with teens and adults. We’ll even put them on your top teeth at no additional cost.
